This is opera like you’ve never seen it. Composer Wojtek Blecharz transforms Balboa Park into a stage, and invites you to become part of the magic. Experience this free, immersive event where music and movement unfold all around you.

To fully experience the work, we ask that you bring your own headphones and smart phone. You’ll be invited to listen to a series of sound meditations on your personal device throughout the evening. We also recommend arriving no later than 6:00 PM to experience the work in its entirety.

PARK OPERA was commissioned by the Theater Powszechny, and is sponsored by Havea, Halen, and Zyla.

Are you INTERESTED IN being a part of park opera?

You can sign up as a volunteer to help guide participants and run logistics, OR join the fun as a high-energy “Ballet” jogger (no dancing required!) for a lighthearted, movement-based scene.
