Project [BLANK] seeks a dynamic, community-driven teaching artist to serve as Outreach Coordinator. This individual will lead and expand our educational outreach and public programming initiatives, with a focus on children, youth, and teens in underserved San Diego neighborhoods. The Outreach Coordinator will work with Project [BLANK] staff and volunteers to design, facilitate, and evaluate quarterly workshops that reflect our mission of accessibility, inclusion, and support for underrepresented communities through the arts.
Job Title: Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time)

Location: San Diego, CA (primary focus on City Heights and Barrio Logan)
Start Date: September 2025
Compensation: $1,000/month for a minimum of 15 months
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week, generally flexible scheduling with occasional evening and weekend events required

Key Responsibilities
Program Development, Implementation, & Management
Design, coordinate, and facilitate quarterly community outreach workshops
Develop outreach programming in conjunction with season performances
Collaborate with Project [BLANK] staff and artists to shape relevant programming
Envision and support the long-term growth of outreach strategies for the 2025–2026 season and beyond
Partnership Building
Establish and maintain relationships with local schools, community centers, and nonprofit organizations
Coordinate with venue partners such as City Heights Recreation Center, Bread & Salt, and others
Community Engagement
Ensure programming is inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible to immigrant and refugee communities
Create welcoming environments that foster creativity, civic participation, and self-expression
Adapt programming to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities
Logistics & Administration
Manage scheduling, workshop supplies, and communication with participants, partners, and volunteers
Coordinate registration, transportation (if applicable), and workshop setup
Maintain alignment with project budgets and timelines
Work closely with Project [BLANK] staff and volunteers to support the smooth execution of workshops and outreach events
Evaluation & Reporting
Collaborate with Project [BLANK] staff to track participation and engagement metrics
Lead evaluations through surveys, informal feedback, and reflection tools
Summarize findings and report outcomes to internal leadership
qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience in arts education, community engagement, or youth programming
Established artistic practice (sound-based or interdisciplinary) strongly preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
Familiarity with San Diego’s diverse neighborhoods, especially City Heights and Barrio Logan
Spanish/English bilingual preferred
Must be available for occasional evening and weekend workshops and events
Part-time, W-2 employee
$1,000/month stipend
Contracted for five quarters of programming over 15 months
Option to renew based on funding availability and program needs
