TODD MOELLENBERG is an interdisciplinary artist based in LA.  His work encompasses poetry, music composition, durational performance, and public intervention, and has been featured by LA Metro Art, Shoot the Lobster, LA Road Concerts, Space Time Art, Bijou Gallery, Cal State LA, and TSA Gallery. In 2017, he served as poet-in-residence for Parkeology, which published the Fruit Loop Field Guide, observational poetry from a cruising spot in San Diego, and is included in the 2019 anthology We Spoke (Sming Sming Books). His recent work focuses on automated voices, Markov-derived processes, and polyrhythmic speech and movement, with recent commissions from percussionist Ryan Nestor, pianist Adam Tendler, violinist Erik Carlson, and Autoduplicity. A classically-trained pianist, he received a Doctorate in contemporary music performance from UCSD. His performance of Stockhausen’s Kontakte with People Inside Electronics was praised by the Los Angeles Times for its “striking virtuosity and theatricality.” His dissertation, “Time and Again,” shows how dodecaphonic music can generate poetic forms. Todd is currently a Teaching Artist with the Young Musician’s Foundation.
