Part fundraiser, part season launch, and part family reunion, ART ATTACK! brings together artists, audiences, and supporters to celebrate the creative community that makes Project [BLANK] possible. Be among the first to preview upcoming performances, commissions, and programs planned for the year ahead.

The evening features a silent auction of works by local and regional artists, performances by some of our favorite sound artists, and DJ sets to keep the party going!

All proceeds support Project [BLANK]'s mission to create daring, interdisciplinary experiences and provide meaningful opportunities for local artists.

PERFORMERS

CAMILO ZAMUDIO, percussionist

Camilo Zamudio-Romero is a percussionist, educator, improviser, and advocate of Latin American popular and contemporary music. Rooted in his Colombian heritage, his work blends Afro-diasporic traditions with contemporary sounds, using percussion as a means to expand musical imagination.

He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia and the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus, and at festivals including the Cartagena International Music Festival and the Ojai Music Festival. His honors include first prize at the Latin American Percussion Competition RAZAM, appearances in the BLAA Young Performers Series, and the [BLANK] Salty Series in 2024.

Camilo earned his BA from the National University of Colombia, studied at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and is currently pursuing a DMA in Contemporary Music Performance at the University of California San Diego as a member of the red fish blue fish percussion ensemble.

XARENI LIZÁRRAGA, sound artist

Xareni Lizárraga has a long trajectory as a sound operator, soundscape artist and researcher artist from Baja Mexico - who worked in multiple documentaries where she developed her audio production experience and exposure to soundecology; experimenting with different environments and sonic characteristics. In past years, she has been collaborating on documentaries, where nature sounds and indigenous rituals play significant roles, using those symbolic sounds as an acoustic ecology and field recordings. She experiments with diverse explorations around field recording, and sonic data interpretation - contemplating certain species as a part of her work. She has collaborated on an array of projects as a sound recordist/sound design artist putting the capacity to listen into practice.

DJ monocromo, AKA Emir Chacra

Emir Chacra (aka monocromo) is a Chilean music producer, bassist, and DJ. He has independently released two EPs and one LP since 2022, drawing on early house and jazz influences. His current work explores the fusion of Latin rhythms with electronic, ambient, and shoegaze elements, informed by his early musical background and Chile’s club scene. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Music at UC San Diego, specializing in DSP development and Latin electronic music.

FRANCISCO EME, sound artist

Francisco Eme (1981) is originally from Mexico City and currently lives and works in San Diego, CA. Francisco is a composer, producer and multimedia artist. He mainly works with sound, but various disciplines are integrated into his practice. His work has been presented in museums, galleries and concert halls in Mexico, the United States, Europe and South America. He has released albums as a soloist, in collaborations and musical projects in various genres, mainly electroacoustic, experimental, electronic pop music. Francisco is the current Gallery Director at The FRONT Arte & Cultura, a binational art gallery in the San Diego, US – Tijuana, Mex border region, where he curates art exhibitions, workshops, concerts and performances focused on the transnational artistic life of the region, but also attentive to the international art scene.
