The results are in! We are so proud to announce that our short film HANJO received the Innovation Prize in Catapult Opera's first-ever Accelerate Competition!
We couldn't be prouder of the work that we presented, and are so grateful to have been recognized by the esteemed judging panel. We would like to extend a HUGE congratulations to the participating teams for putting up such stiff competition. The judges really had their work cut out for them, it couldn't have been an easy decision! In case you missed it, or you would love to watch it again (we don't blame you), the film is now live on our website. Click below to check it out!
Keep scrolling for a peek behind the scenes as we rehearsed, recorded, built, filmed, and edited this beautiful short film for Catapult Opera’s first-ever ACCELERATE Competition! We’re honored to have been chosen as one of six finalist teams, and couldn’t be prouder of this work. To view our performance of a scene from HANJO by Toshio Hosokawa, with shadow puppetry by Tania Yager, orchestration realized and recorded by Brendan Nguyen, sung by baritone Jonathan Nussman and mezzo-soprano Leslie Ann Leytham, and mixed and edited by Joe Cantrell, head to www.catapultopera.org.
Here's where you come in! The final presentations will be posted on Catapult Opera's website from October 5 - 12, and you will be able to vote for your favorite once each day. The Audience Favorite will win additional prize money, and will stand for one additional vote on the adjudication panel. The winning team will receive prize money of at least $5,000!
Thank you for your continued support!
